Young Carers at Gins

On the warmest day of the year the RSYC Trust entertained 24 young carers and their families from the New Forest Young Carers to a Water Activities Day at Gins.

The young people and some of their families enjoyed Dinghy sailing, Kayaking, Crabbing, River Cruises and Raft Building. Theday was a great success with most of the children never before had an opportunity to take part in activities like.

Thank you to all of the volunteers, helpers and staff at Gins who helped make it such a success.

Some feed back received from the Young Carers Group - Community First New Forest - building relationships, enabling action.

'We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who worked so hard to arrange everything and make yesterday such a great success. We had so many happy children and families at the end of the day. You all did an amazing job so thank you so much.'

We have asked for feedback and photos to share andwill pass those on when we have them. One of the Young Carers did say it was the best day ever though - and is now desperate for a kayak. And one of the mums said she had started the day crying and ended up smiling and laughing and it was all down to how friendly and helpful everyone had been.
