Details of the very full 2019 RSYC cruising season were presented at a fully attended, delicious meal/meeting on Saturday evening atGins. Following successful Frostbite meets, the next item on the calendar is Easter weekend beginning with an Safari Supper at East Cowes then to Yarmouth and Gins. Rallies to Poole, St Vaast, Bembridge are coming up so bookings need to be made with Nikki at Sailing@rsyc.org.uk to avoid disappointment.

Geoffrey Wheeler of See Southampton spoke about the varied history of Southampton’s Historic connections with the New World inanticipation of 2020 commemorating the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower. Graham Tracey then told of the progress of plans towards a Mayflower Trail, flotilla cruise, youth access and other activities for next year’s Big Event in concert with Southampton Council.

Early bookings for events and requests for hosts were reminders to all who wish to join in on the busy cruising calendar for 2019.
