The Trust is planning to run some Water Activity Days at Gins for the Young Carers that we support.

These days offer wonderful opportunities for these undervalued and often forgotten young people who look after parents or family members. They get few opportunities to get together with other young carers and also with family members to enjoy an active day messing about on or by the water.

The activities we want to offer are dinghy sailing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, raft building, model yacht sailing, rib rides, yacht trips, crab fishing competition and nature trails.

We are seeking help from any members who are able to help on the day with any of the following:

  • Dinghy helms
  • Kayakers or kayak instructors
  • Sailing instructors
  • Loan of sailing dinghies or paddle boards
  • Safety boat drivers
  • Loan/use of safety boats
  • Loan/use of ribs to take young carers out
  • Helpers with any of the activities listed above

The dates we are seeking help are  Wednesday, August 7; Thursday, August 8 and Wednesday, August 21.

We are also looking for equipment that members may have to donate to the Trust. We are looking for wet suits especially smaller sizes, wet shoes, buoyancy aids, paddle-boards and sit-on kayaks.

Please contact Graham Tracey - Trustee RSYC Trust for more information or would like to help.
