Enthusiastic response

Eddie Hill's talk "An Alternative BoatingSport" given on Saturday 12th January was a great success and attracted an enthusiastic response from his audience.

Eddie gave a top-level review of the features and attractions of this sport. Being a qualified Chartered Physicist, he also welcomed more in-depth questions from those already ‘hooked’ on this fascinating and fun sport.

Radio Controlled (RC) boating and yachting has been a feature of the RSYC activities since 2013, with GINS providing an excellent venue for this ‘Alternative Boating Sport’.

Eddie Hill has led this activity for us and is continuing to spread his enthusiasm for both the sailing experiences and for the underlying technologies, particularly the naval architecture aspects and the electronic communication and control technologies.

The Royal Southampton Yacht Club is quite unique among the Solent's Royal Yacht Clubs in being affiliated to the MYA (the UK National Association for RC yachting) and in offering members access to this internationally supported sport.
The RSYC has run both sailing events and workshops, providing help to members to make ready and to tune their RC boats, which can be sailing, power or scale models.

Watch this website for future events and if you are interested in participating or would like more information please contact Eddie via the RSYC Office on 023 80 223 352
